This is my fourth year attending Sakura Matsuri and it continues to be one of my favorite cultural festivals in DC. In this post I’ll share my 2018 highlights + tips for first-time attendees next year.

Peak bloom 2018 is predicted to occur between April 8 and April 12, but we made our first visit to Blossom Central this weekend.

This simple preparation pairs fennel with fresh lemon and sage for a really refreshing dish that puts me in a springtime mood while still featuring seasonal winter produce. Vegetarian, optionally vegan, optionally oil-free.

I created this recipe based LOOSELY on chicken tikka masala and featuring winter vegetables: butternut squash and sweet potato.
