Christmas candy party dish favorites – “the basics”

I love quality chocolate, but I also love inexpensive, buttery, dangerously addictive, nostalgia-inducing holiday candy. These are my top two:

that heavenly glow…
  1. Reese’s BellsI think most humans with internet access already know what a Reese’s peanut butter cup is. I don’t know what it is that makes Reese’s bells feel extra special. Is it just the shape? To be honest, I think it’s a slightly-more-addictive-than-usual chocolate to peanut butter ratio. Either way, they look great in a dish and everyone’s eyes light up when they see them.
  2. Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses I love the Hershey’s candy cane bar but a) can’t put it in a candy dish and b) can’t stop myself from eating the whole thing in one sitting, so candy cane kisses are a better choice. The packaging is pretty, the shape is classic and festive, and the combination of buttery white chocolate and crunchy candy cane pieces is very satisfying.

That’s it! Quick and simple. People will love you, and it doubles as a Christmas decoration.

About a week ago I bought a bag of each of these and created a beautiful candy dish by combining the two. The next day it was a bowl of candy cane kisses after s o m e o n eed eyes<— took all the bells but it’s still pretty. I like shiny things and sugar, what can I say? Let me know your favorite Christmas candies too 🙂
